Just trying to make a record here:
DeDe Scozzafava, the Republican Party nominee in New York’s 23rd Congressional District, has suspended her campaign because she found herself at 20% compared to Hoffman, the Conservative Party Nominee, at 35%, and the Democrat, Owens, at 36%.
The CW is that Hoffman will now win because the GOPers for DeDe will just switch over to the winger.
Wrong. Hoffman doesn’t live in the district and couldn’t answer straight questions from the local newspaper about local issues that Dick Armey called “parochial.”
I think DeDe will still get about 10% on Tuesday from ignorant and protest voters and that the majority of the remainder go to Owens, giving him the plurality win.
We will know Tuesday night.
