For Oz

There is something primal about sports.  The sheer strength of bodies, agile and flexible is a wonder to behold simply as image as well as a personal accomplishment of the athlete.  A healthy, athletic body is more likely to be sexually attractive to us as fecund.  We are hardwired by a zillion years of DNA to want the species to survive.  The human form is the veritable center of all art forms, of course, but especially so in dance, the most kinesthetic of the arts.

We’ve certainly thrilled at athleticism as a species for all the history of which I know — we can only speculate whether children ran races at the dawn of human existence, before there was history, but I expect so.  I know my sisters didn’t hesitate to challenge me physically at games, so I don’t think competition and admiration for athleticism is gender specific, despite any differences in our builds.

So, with all due respect, I hereby present a link to what seemed to be a beautiful and exciting and very fun athletic event.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
