From Talking Points Memo:

GOP Congressman Attacks Obama For “Enemies List,” And Birth Certificate
Rep. John Sullivan (R-OK) told a Tulsa Republican Club event (Blogblah note: according to a Tulsa World Story) that this is a “scary time” in Washington. “It’s a very frightening time. I see Barack Obama is creating an enemies list of people who oppose this miserable health care plan. I think that’s frightening,” said Sullivan. “That’s from a guy that can’t even show a long-form birth certificate. I think we all ought to be prepared to fight that.”

CORRECTION: I must have been agog when I misidentified the demon Magog in the prior post

As to some of the Twitter/Loopt entries on the right, last night I went to grab some coffee just before 11 p.m. over at the NW Highway and Independence Starbucks and was enjoying it outside with a smoke when I noticed a line of cars headed into the Marriott Hotel across the street. I couldn’t figure it out, so as I left Starbucks, I swung through the parking lot (it’s on the way to my house) and realized, looking at the wide bottomed desperates in their glad rags streaming into the hotel that they were all headed for Russell’s, the meat market disco there. Traveling approximately east took me past Groovy’s and Nancy’s 57th Street Lighthouse. If Oklahoma’s birther/nutter GOP representative really wanted to be frightened, he should take a look at what Saturday night is like for many folks in Oklahoma City. Enjoying as I was the cool night in my topdown convertible, I took a spin around the north side of town and realized I was going past all seven levels of Hell (as described in Dante’s Inferno) and just went all literary. I’m particularly proud of the last two, places I have been known to frequent and enjoy, bin 73 and Flip’s. bin 73 really is a place where our local small time miscreants are regularly bored shitless by endless stories of some other nabob and, considering Flip’s 24 years as a linchpin of the night life of my town, who else but Sartre to recognize the lack of exit? For those I may have offended by dissing one of your favorite spots or by filling up your Twitter feed, I want to sincerely say: “Fuck you if you can’t take a joke.”

OMG I’m depressed. The wingnut birthers are a depressing lot as they are soooo ignorant, but the real depressing thought is the nightlife in OKC. I haven’t been out in it in ten years, and there was no reason to go then if you had any self respect. I see enough uneducated, unsophisticated fat people wrapped in too tight shiney clothes smelling of cheap perfume daily and that’s at work!! If I saw them at night looking for love, I’d puke. I think I have to puke just thinking about it. Excuse me.
